July 4th weekend

I hope you all had a a great holiday weekend. Ours was jam packed with fourth of July weekend fun. We started it off on Friday night by observing some Independence day weekend traditions with some fireworks on the lake.

It was the first time we got to enjoy them from the comfort of our boat. We were very excited although we learned a couple of lessons about the ideal spot to park for next year’s celebration. We wanted to balance out being close enough for good viewing without being caught up in the crazy after fireworks boat traffic that ensues immediately afterwards. We erred a bit too much on the side of not being in traffic and while our view was good we weren’t quite close enough to really feel the “booms” of the fireworks which is a part that I love. It was a great show, though next year we will be up front and center for every heart pounding boom.

After the firework fun on Friday night We had some obligatory BBQ’ing going on and got to break in out cute BBQ sign we made a little while back.

And enjoyed some steamed clams.

And some splashing in the pool.

Of course the guys couldn’t let the long weekend go by without finishing up our new platform deck surrounding the pool.

Above is the father figure Tony he asked for an honorable mention in this post. Hi Dad! I”ll be back later in the week to show you how the whole deck turned out.

In between all that there was also some jet skiing fun happening in honor of my brother-in-laws 29th birthday.

All in all it was a pretty fun and productive weekend around here. Now it’s time to get back to work and recover from all the fun.
