What do I Want to be When I Grow Up?

I’ve been thinking a lot lately about what I want to be when I grow up? When I was younger I wanted a big corporate job. Well I have the big corporate job now which I like but that doesn’t mean my interests and dreams stop there right?

So that also has got me thinking about what I want this blog to be when it grows up and what kind of blogs do I enjoy reading? Well, after I thought about it for a while I decided that I love all kinds of blogs  including: fashion, tech blogs, lifestyle, home improvement, travel and the list goes on. I don’t really like being penned into one thing. So like me I’m thinking my readers love all kinds of things as well. Everyone recommends going for a niche when you write a blog  which is awesome but also would really love to read a blog that covered a bit of everything. I’ve realized I like the most is when someone shares bit and pieces of their life and ALL of their random interests.

So perhaps as time goes on you’ll see more me and more of all the things I love right here. Think of it as a smorgasbord of all the cool things with my life decorating and DIY adventures thrown in for good measure.

Of course while I was pondering all that I thought it be fun to share 5 blogs on the fun side of cool that you may or may not know about and that I always look forward to reading. So here it goes…

5 Blogs I’m Loving Right Now!

House Tweaking – What can I say about this blog other than it’s really one of my favorite Home Improvement blogs out there. She’s got  a great sense of style. She’s also a contributor to Houzz another one of my guilty pleasures you can find her profile at Houzz here.

Kendi Everyday – Kendi’s quit wit and affordable sense of style make her one of my favorite fashion bloggers out there.

Under the Sycamore blog – In my opinion this has to be the best photo family blog out there. The photography is gorgeous and her heartfelt writing are truly engaging.

The Blonde Salad – I recently started reading Chiara’s Blog. It’s a fashion blog that manages to be about more than just about pretty girls wearing great clothes. Of course it does have all that but it tends to be more of photographic journey of her adventures (while wearing great clothes) It’s written in both Italian and English and I’ve become hooked.

Chris Loves Julia – Another recent blog find is Chris loves Julia they’re renovating their home room by room and taking their readers along for the ride. Recently they’re tackling the renovation of their studio and letting the readers choose the design through votes.

Thank You’s

In other news I wanted to give a big old heartfelt Thank You to Kelly from Eclectically Vintage and Lindsey from Better After. Kelly featured my bedroom makeover on her blog and Lindsey the chairs I reupholstered. Thank You both so very much and welcome to their readers it’s so nice to have you.

So what are your favorite types of blogs to read? Is it strictly DIY? Do you have a special affection like I do for Fashion Blogs? Do you like ones with a bit of everything thrown in? Please let me know in the comments I’d love to check them out.

I was thinking the same thing.  I really like reading blogs where people share their sense of humor and bits and pieces of their lives. I actually like to hear about people’s days! I have only been blogging 5  months and my idea was to stay firmly in my niche and not share my personal life, especially my kids, but honestly, its hard not to! So I think I am going to start being me and injecting my opinion, adventures and a few stories into my blog. So I say go for it, Maria! After all, fashion is so closely related to design and your artwork is fantastic, so let your creativity shine and share the things you do & love!
