Beach Inspired: Blue and Green Living Room

Can we talk about the Living room for a second? Specifically, adding a few new colors back in. I love the new white walls and frames we put up (even though they still don’t have anything in them) but I kind of got sidetracked on finishing off the room when we spontaneously decided to remove the wall one day. We love it and there is still the whole thing of fixing the sheetrock and adding in a  few moldings to contend with.

Removing a Wall 04 Back when I first painted I  put together this mood board that I thought would work well in the new space. I’ll save you some time from clicking over because I’ve completely scrapped that idea. Although I still really do love that light. That’s what I kind of love about mood boards, you “live” with a few items together before committing to them. While it was good it just wasn’t making me feel excited to get started on it. I took that as a sign to scrap the whole thing and start over.

Wanna see? I’m loving this one a whole lot more.

Kitchen Remodel: Small Update or Complete Gut Job?

08.4.13

It’s inevitable, once we start one project in the house the ideas start to snowball and take on a life of it’s own. Predictably that has happened since opening up the wall between the kitchen and living room.

Removing a Wall 06

We’ve always planned to remodel the kitchen since we bought the house 3 years ago. But one thing has lead to another and it has stayed larger the same. Honestly we could never decided between a moderate spruce up and a larger full renovation. Opening up the wall has shed some new light and made the room feel so much bigger. We’re really getting antsy to make this space our own.

Glass Beach

Happy Friday Friends! We finally woke up to the most gorgeous Spring morning here in the Northeast. It’s been a very cold Spring so far around here so to say I’m excited about the change is an understatement.

The shift in weather has had me thinking about the beach, sun and sand lately…or maybe even a different kind of beach. Perhaps even a beach covered entirely in sea glass?

3 Budget Ways to Style Flowers

04.4.13

Ahhh Spring, you can feel it in the air, finally. Before you know it the magnolias a cherry trees will be blooming. I can hardly wait! I love to bring flowers into my home as often as I can. But filling your home with fresh flowers can tend to get on the pricy side. With spring comes easier access to all kinds of flowers and blooms. Here are three of my favorite and beautiful ways to add flowers without breaking the bank.

First, grab a bunch of jars and arrange them together. You could use jelly jars or mason jars, wrap some twine around it and place just few stems each of assorted wild flowers for a casual arrangement.
