The Best Eye Shadows: Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette

It’s a common scenario, I buy a new eye shadow excited to try it out. Take it home, unwrap the package, start to put it on, only to realize it’s not really what I was looking for or have no idea how best to apply it.

Naked-2-Palette Make up lovers around the world have sung the praises of Urban Decay Naked2 palette for quite some time now. I had spied it forever ago on a fashion blog forever ago and have been dying to try it out.

My sister bought it for my birthday a few months ago and I have been loving it so so much that I had to share. At around $50 for the set it’s not really what I would call cheap but it’s so worth it. I’ve never had a collection of eye shadows before that I have loved so much.

It’s really great for anyone that really likes neutral makeup like myself.   The shades ranging from pale to deep, matte to sparkly. This collection lets you achieve lots of neutral looks, smoky dramatic eyes, and everything in between. It’s so versatile this palette can easily go from day to night by just using some of the darker colors in the palette.

And my favorite part is there are a ton of of Magliette Calcio A Poco Prezzo fantastic tutorials out there that make applying this Naked2 palette nearly fool proof. I get compliments all the time when I wear it. My sister swears by this tutorial for a daytime smokey eye (which I used in the photos above) and I also really love this tutorial here.

The Most Expensive Home in the USA

The most expensive home in the USA just recently went on the market in Dallas, Texas for $135M. The Crespi/Hicks Estate owned by Tom Hicks and built by Pio Crespi is situated on 25 acres and boasts 28,996 square feet. Also situated on the property is a 7,000 square foot pool house and a 6,300 square foot guest house. It’s located just 8 minutes from downtown Dallas.

Crespi Hicks Mayflower Estates Home

The estates original architect Swiss born Maurice Fatio, designed some of the most prominent homes in the 20’s and 30’s for the families such as the Vanderbilt’s, Duchess of Marlborough and Edward F Hutton. It was lthe ast great estate he built before his early death in the 40’s.

Pool House Veranda

According to the Dallas Pop Culture blog the estate “was originally built by a couple retreating from the headlines of two divorces and the ugly lawsuit that followed.”

“Italian-born cotton tycoon Count maglie calcio poco prezzo Pio Crespi and his American wife, Florence “Flo” Crespi, were jet-setters before there were jets. They moved to Dallas from Waco, the town where he first established a Texas branch of his family’s Milan-based cotton empire.”

Pool House in Mayflower Estates

According to the stories Flo Crespi never changed a single thing in the interior of the home after her husband Pio’s  death in 1969. Every stick of furniture remained and decor item intact even when she remarried at the age of 74. Eventually her 3rd husband passed away when Flo was in her 90’s and as her world travels ended she moved back to the mansion she and Pio first built in the 1930’s Flo passed away in 1969 just short of her 101st birthday!

Guest House at Crespi Hicks Estate

Shortly after Flo’s death Tom Hick’s purchased the property and began restoring the house and doubling it’s size. Spending nearly $100m on the restoration project the home and grounds are truly a site to behold.

You can see a whole lot more of the house in the video below (subscribers will have to click over to the blog to view) by Douglas Newby the listing.

What are your thoughts on the USA’s most expensive home? It’s certainly beautiful and ostentatious but what I find most fascinating is the story of Flo Crespi. Oh and I wouldn’t mind living in the guest house if anyone’s buying 😉

Michelle Adams Apartment in Lonny

Hi all, Happy Monday and happy first week of daylight savings time. Is anyone else feeling a little sluggish this morning? I love the time change for the promise of long summer evenings to but I don’t think I ever adjust to the change I think the day just shifts a little bit.

Bedroom - A wall of framed art hung above a burlwood headboard

After Friday’s snow storm I felt like Spring would never arrive but it did in a big way on Saturday our 8 inches of snow gave way to birds chirping and warm sunshine! It was glorious,

I spent some of my time sitting in the sun catching up on the latest issue of Lonny magazine. Lonny is one of those magazine that I actually read cover to cover. That is kind of rare for me maglie calcio poco prezzo I’m usually more of skimmer. Reading Lonny always takes me a while to get through an issue.

I had to share my favorite feature so far of Michelle Adams (editor in chief of Lonny) apartment. It’s teeny tiny.

Michelle Adams - A settee and a Lucite chair in a light-filled living space

475 square feet to be exact, and decidedly girly.

Michelle Adams - Framed artworks and a stacked Lucite lamp on a windowsill

And packed with style which include the the most amazing views of NYC, but what else did we expect right? Be sure to check out the March issue of Lonny magazine.

So what did you all do this weekend? Read any good magazines? I hope your weather was as beautiful and Spring like as ours.
