Happy Weekend Everyone!

Check out this gigantic bird we had in our yard last weekend. We think it’s a Turkey Vulture, who was protecting it’s meal from another bird who had their eye on it. Every time the other bird drew near this guy spread it’s wings wide showing off the huge wingspan.

This picture doesn’t even do the size of this bird justice I was easily 300 feet away as I snapped this photo!

Happy Weekend Everyone! The weather around here lately has been crazy, more like April weather for us than February. I Love It!

Our resident swans have returned to our portion of the lake. They’re so beautiful and graceful. Usually they come a few at a time but this guy struck out on his own the other day.

Well I’m off for the weekend!

Happy Weekend everyone! I hope wherever you are you’re warm and snuggly. Oh and if you live in Australia I’m officially jealous of your mid-summer weather. Here the lake has just frozen over enough for the Ice Fisherman to arrive, but in my mind I would wait for another couple days of cold weather before i set foot on the ice.

Ice Fisherman are always a curious bunch in my mind. They appear at the first sign of ice covering the lake and brave the cold, wind, snow and hail in the hopes of pulling a fish from the icy waters.

Happy Weekend Everyone!

Barring our freak October Snowstorm things have been decidedly mild here for most of the winter thus far. That is, until the other day when the freezing temperatures arrived making it feel pretty much like any other average January.

Cold and Windy.

Good thing we’ll be warm and snuggly by the fire 😉

Happy Weekend before Christmas everyone! Is everyone ready for the big day? The good news is that I’m done shopping for gifts, the bad news is that I still have to wrap them all.

The other day I noticed my gifts-to-wrap pile keeps getting mysteriously larger. I investigated last night (dusting off my Nancy Drew skills) it seems that Bryan has been piling the gifts he bought (that aren’t mine) on the wrapping pile.

He knows I’m onto him…this morning I casually mentioned it and he walked out of the room with a sheepish grin…He thinks he’s gotten away with it.  OH BOY will he be surprised when I break out the wrapping paper and tape tonight and recruit him as sheepish grinning elf!

May your weekend be Merry and Bright and filled with your own elves!
